Dawn over the Derwent

As so often happens after a very busy week full of early starts, my body rejected the opportunity to sleep in on Saturday morning and I found myself wide awake around 6am. Rather than squander the final minutes of darkness on coffee and the weekend papers, I got myself out and travelled the short distance from home to the shores of the River Derwent, camera in hand, to capture the dawn.

In less good news, these images do reveal that I seem to have acquired some spots on my sensor. Photographic followers may be able to suggest the best way to clean them – suggestions in comments most welcome:-)

  1. Tasmanian traveller says:

The shade of pink in the sunset reminded me of the work of a female Tasmanian printmaker from early last or late 19th century. Try as I might I cannot bring her name to memory. But I felt this was the only time I had ever seen just that subtlety that you captured. Quite wonderful.
